The Pharmacy Technician serves as a part of the healthcare team at Piedmont Medical Center and collaborates with other team members to provide optimal care.The Pharmacy Technician accepts responsibility and accountability for provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.
Assists pharmacists in preparing, labeling and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and supplies, receiving, sorting, and stocking medications and supplies.Bills and credits medications to patients.
Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED or equivalent training required.
Minimum Experience: Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred. IV experience preferred. Experience with chemotherapy preparations preferred. Good organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, and basic computer skills preferred. 3 years hospital experience preferred
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: Current (state) Registered Pharmacy Technician license (depending on state regs) required. Pharmacy Technician certification (depend on state regs) required. BLS required. Accredited training in sterile products preparation and preparation of hazardous drugs.
