Summary of Job Function: The Pharmacy Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operation of the Pharmacists and Technicians. Ensures the most appropriate medication therapy is provided to all patients and that patient safety is maximized. Responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and evaluation of quality improvement programs, pharmacy staff training, and staff development. Assists director and assistant director in the performance of their duties and the fulfillment of their responsibilities. Acts as a resource to staff in the completion of their duties. Assists with compliance with all regulatory requirements. Serves as a front-line resource for all Pharmacy associates. On Call Responsibilities. Successful completion (90%) of all assigned departmental competencies. Serves as a preceptor to pharmacy residents for staffing rotations.

Current New Jersey licensure required. Minimum three years of hospital pharmacy experience. 2 years of supervisory experience. Completion of hospital pharmacy residency and/or advanced pharmacy degree preferred. Familiarly with all phases of hospital Pharmacy. Working knowledge of public health matters. Familiarly with Federal and State laws regulating professional and hospital practice of Pharmacy. Understands role of Hospital Pharmacy Department within the Hospital, it interrelationships with other departments and functions.
