Cox South is the largest hospital within CoxHealth's 6- hospital system. Our Pharmacy Department utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, where the emphasis is on therapeutic efficacy and medication safety across the continuum of care. We provide comprehensive, clinical services in our inpatient care settings through a decentralized pharmacy services model.
We are looking for a Clinical Coordinator to join our Pharmacy team. The ideal candidate for this position is highly motivated to provide the most optimal pharmaceutical care to our patients, has excellent communication skills, able to follow through on commitments and encourages the open expression of ideas. This role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to assist with problem identification and resolution, cost containment issues, implementation of new services, and systems/performance measures including attending committee meetings. The clinical coordinator is also responsible for formulary management for protocol development, policies, procedures, medication evaluation and the standardization of medical care for the department including peer review of pharmacy dosing protocols.
This role will report to the System Clinical Director of Pharmacy and work closely with the other clinical specialists and site managers. The Clinical Coordinator serves as a mentor to our pharmacy students and residents. The role does not formaly serve as a supervisor for other pharmacist. Newly graduating PGY-2 canididates in any of the pharmacy specialties including pharmacy administration are encouraged to apply.
B.S. in Pharmacy required.
PharmD degree preferred.
Two years of direct-patient care pharmacist experience OR 1 year residency experience.
Experience Preferred: Supervisory experience
Prefer two years of residency, including a one-year specialty residency
Prefer one year of general residency plus three years of direct-patient experience.
Individual would spend approximately 20% of the time with patient-centered responsibilities and 80% completing committee and special project responsibilities.
Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, other computer systems software, copiers, fax machines and other office equipment as necessary.
Licensed by Missouri Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacist or eligible for licensure by Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacist and obtains licensure within 30 days of hire. **Eligibility for licensure requires submission of application for Pharmacy License at time of hire**
