Our client is seeking a CENTRAL PHARMACY MANAGER to join an expert team of physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals who make Cedars-Sinai known around the world. Named by US News & World Report as one of America’s Best Hospitals, CSMC is a nonprofit, acute, tertiary care, teaching hospital with 886 licensed beds, 2,100 physicians, 2,800 nurses and thousands of other healthcare professionals and staff. Clinical programs range from primary care for preventing, diagnosing and treating common conditions to specialized treatments for complex and advanced illnesses. Cedars-Sinai serves as a major organ transplant center with over 120 critical care beds.
CSMC’s Pharmacy Department consists of more than 380 team members providing industry-leading, evidence-based medicine. Reporting to the Associate Director of Pharmacy, the CENTRAL PHARMACY MANAGER will be directly responsible for providing Central Pharmacy Services to CSMC patients with a team of Pharmacists and Technicians. S/he will provide leadership, direction, assessment and oversight of Central Pharmacy policies, processes and standards to ensure high quality, regulatory compliant and cost-effective pharmaceutical service delivery including, but not limited to:
Medication cartfill via automated robot
Medication receiving and storage (medication carousels/ automated dispensing cabinets)
Team performance management and review
New program development/ implementation
Focus on patient safety, pharmacy efficiency, cost containment strategies and customer service
Precepting of Residents (PGY-1, PGY-2) and students
Controlled substance distribution
Participation in CSMC initiatives/ committees
Planning/ transition into newly renovated pharmacy space
Serves as the Pharmacy Administrator-On-Duty (AOD) on a rotating basis
Routinely staffs in Central Pharmacy area (up to 20%)

Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy; PharmD degree is preferred
In-patient hospital pharmacy experience, preferably in a supervisory role for an academic medical center or large, complex teaching hospital; strong understanding of hospital environment, including regulatory requirements
Completion of ASHP-accredited residency program preferred; licensed or eligible for licensure in California
Knowledge of pharmacy automation systems; ability to deal with micro and macro issues related to hospital pharmacy practices
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
