Under the direction of the VP, Chief Pharmacy Officer, is responsible for directing, coordinating and developing the best demonstrated practices for medication therapy that focuses on Trinity Health Pharmacy Operations for acute and non-acute care. Proactively looks for opportunities to improve the quality and performance of pharmacy operational outcomes and cost effectiveness of therapies. Partners with Unified Clinical Organization and regional ministry pharmacy leaders - operational and clinical - in support of pharmacy operations services. Serves as the pharmacy operational resource for Ministry organizations and system office staff.
Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision and Values in leadership behaviors, practices and decisions.
Serves as the lead expert resource and consultant for Acute and Non-Acute Pharmacy Operations Services for the Unified Clinical Organization.
Identifies, develops and directs system-wide as well as when needed RHM individualized services and programs to advance Trinity Health Pharmacy Operations with demonstrated best pharmacy outcomes.
Identifies, develops and directs system-wide programs that ensure the management of a safe and effective medication-use system. Ensures that systems are developed and improved based on evidence and best practices, operate effectively and efficiently across the continuum of care, and are continuously evaluated and improved using contemporary quality-improvement methods.
Leads services and programs that allow for the continued operation of medication-use systems and for the provision of pharmaceutical services during emergencies and disasters.
Works with the Trinity Health Pharmacy Leaders to assess the need for, direct and implement programs such as, but not limited to: controlled substance diversion, specialty pharmacy services, drug wholesaler/ prime vendor relationships, pharmacy productivity, pharmacy dashboards, standard medication distribution model, sterile compounding – USP 797 and 800, 340 B, regulatory/ accreditation, outpatient and ambulatory pharmacy operational issues, and medication reconciliation during and post discharge.
Provides leadership, management and supervisory direction for Pharmacy Operations Leaders working within the Regional Health Ministries.
Works to leverage health information technologies to efficiently identify pharmacy operational opportunities.
Directs the development of systems and process to demonstrate measureable and meaningful impacts upon pharmacy operational outcomes through the services provided by Pharmacy Operations programs.
Represents Trinity through work with local, state and national pharmacy organizations related to Pharmacy Operations Practice.
Handles unanticipated events and crisis situations in a constructive manner.
Collaborates with key stakeholders to create ownership in decision-making.
Challenges, motivates, evaluates and stimulates colleagues toward the achievement of goals and objectives.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy and acute and non- acute Pharmacy Operations as normally obtained through advanced education such as Pharm.D. Degree or Master's degree in business management.
Seven to ten years acute and non-acute pharmacy / pharmacy operations experience with increasing responsibility.
Residency in health system pharmacy (preferred).
Additional experience in institutional care, broad experience in clinical pharmacy services and pharmacy systems management in diverse settings is highly desirable.
Licensure by a State Board of Pharmacy is required.
Prior experience in leading, directing and managing staff.
Experience using word processing, database applications, desktop publishing, spreadsheet software required.
Strong communication, analytical, organizational, negotiation and leadership skills. Ability to articulate opportunities and be a change agent.
Demonstrated abilities in the area of project management.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment. Working environment requires an ability to meet deadlines with frequent interruptions, ability to work under pressure, ability to manage changing priorities.
Some travel to meet with other related parties is expected, including some overnight travel. Additional time commitment may be required to complete work responsibilities.
